How am I going to get my point across? My group and I walk up the stairs and onto the stage. Classmates. Teachers. Businessmen. Everyone is there to watch. I never expected to be under such pressure. Just take a deep breath. Do your part. Have confidence.

Every time I get in front of a group, or even a parcel of my peers, I get anxious. And this time was no different. In our smallgroup of pretend engineers and project managers, we spent months doing research, reviewing our components, and pulling together our presentation.

“Whenever you’re ready,” the teacher said.

I took one last look at my notes. "Good morning everyone," I said. We started giving a speech about something that I personally have cared for a long time, and something I plan on majoring in: Engineering. My group and I strutted around stage, pointing out things on the big screen that needed special emphasis. From the buildings to the roads and even the landscape, everything had a modification. We spoke for over 15 minutes, arguing our plan to innovate the school, and make it better for future students and staff alike.

The ending of our presentation meant the beginning of more pressure: Questions.

"When you were talking about the roads, how did you account for extra runoff?" One man from the front row of the theater asked. But I prepared for a question like this. I answered the man without a pause. This stunned the crowd and showed them I was confident and prepared.

Following questions, everyone applauded and I received congratulatory handshakes from teachers and local business people. And I couldn't be more proud of my group as they all succeeded in their roles. They made their point and so did I.
