The Crow
They were always there. By “they,” I mean the crows. They were there when she was born. They were there when her mother died and when her father left. No matter what they were always there. Always watching as if they were waiting for her turn, but every time a tragedy struck, they would fly closer. They left for a short while when she made two new friends. One was a boy who was kind and very funny. Eventually, that kindness turned into hatred because the crows that watched her were angry seeing that she felt happiness being with him. The crows tormented him, coming at every angle scaring him. Flocks would come to his window pecking at the glass and keeping him up at night. It was to the point where he couldn’t take it anymore. When they looked into his eyes it was like they could see his soul. Maybe, that is what they wanted? He told the girl it was all her fault and their friendship ended. The other friend never really minded the crows. No matter what they did to her she always stuck by the girl no matter what. Even if the crows were always there. That ended a short while after the boy disappeared. Without him, the other friend did not enjoy hanging out with the girl even though they were inseparable. So, when they were gone and she was left broken, she couldn’t take it anymore. Without her friends, nothing would stop the crows from taking her. She climbed to the top of the roof then they carried her away, never to be seen again.

I chose to do feeling the feelings of grief and loss and I also used symbolism. The crows symbolize death. What I like about my writing is that it keeps the reader wanting to know more. I chose to write about this because it makes me feel vulnerable.
