Engaged With A Crush

So it all started when I met the love of my life, so I thought. Being together for three years, I thought he was the one that I could have feelings for. He did everything and anything for me, never leaving my side.I loved him, he couldn't do anything wrong in my eyes. He was perfect, but some might say it was too perfect. He got me flowers every Monday and breakfast in bed.
But on that one Wednesday morning there was a massive email, saying we will have a new mentor coming in. all the women were gossiping about who it might be, I didn’t have much to say about it. All the guys were thinking it might be a woman who they could gawk at. By the time Thursday morning comes around, our boss's door was shut and it's never shut. After about twenty minutes, the door opens and we all stare awaiting who's about to appear. Then comes out a six foot three, dark skinned man, with a chiseled jaw, hazel eyes, with tight curled hair. Everyone stared as the new mentor went around introducing himself.

I almost forgot I was engaged, and almost passed out. Quickly snapping back into reality, he knocks on my office door.
“Hello, my name is Anthony."
“I’ll be your new mentor, nice to meet you” he continued.
“Hi, nice to meet you, I'm Aaliyah."
“Welcome to the office, glad your apart of our team” I continued
“Why thank you, enlightened to be here," Anthony said leaving the room.

After he left, it felt like he took all the air with him. It felt like I was holding my breath for an eternity. He smelled like Dior, nothing like my fiance. Then I remember I had a fiance, and I had to clear my mind. Getting through the day was harder than usual, I was backed up with work and was one of the last to leave for the night. As I was finally finished for the night I was headed for the door when I heard a deep voice say.
“You're still here” Anthony asked?
“Yeah I usually don’t say late, but tonight I had a lot of extra paperwork to fill in."
“I was listening to music and got a little distracted” I added.
“Alright, I’m about to head out, enjoy the rest of your night” he said.
“You as well,” I said.
Headed out into the parking lot, it was a little chiller than other nights.
Finally getting to my car I went to start it as usual with no luck.
“Are you serious? '' I said disappointed.
Getting out of the car I popped the hood to see if I could find the problem.
I saw Anthony was still outside on his motorcycle. He was putting on his helmet, when he stopped to notice I was having car troubles.
“Are you doing alright over there” he asked?
“I’m okay, my car just won’t start."
“Do you want me to take a look?” He asked?
“It’s really dark and cold out, I might just wait til the morning” I explained.
“That's fine, do you want me to give you a ride home?” He asked.
“If you don’t mind, thank you” I said.
“No problem, just happy to help,” He said.

I went to put my things in the car, and grab my jacket and everything I needed for the night. I was kinda worried about what my fiance would think about me coming home late. But I didn't want to bother him, knowing how late it was.
“Here, take this,” Anthony said.
Handing me the helmet.
“Safety first,” he explained.
“Right, safety first” I said grinning.
“Hop on and hold tight, I don’t want you to fall off ” He said.
“If you don’t mind, I have to pick up my dinner before it’s to late” He asked
“Yeah, that’s okay with me,” I said.

This was my first time riding a motorcycle, and it was kind of thrilling. I could definitely picture me and Anthony riding into the sunset. Knowing I had a fiance waiting for me at home, I kinda like feeling the excitement of someone different. Snapping out of it, I realized we had arrived at the Burger Joint that's at the corner of Vesa and Burk.
“Wait here, I’ll be right back,” He said.
“I’ll be here ,” I said.
After ten long minutes he finally came back. He put the food in a little compartment under my seat.

“Ready to go?” He asked
“Yeah, I’m ready whenever you are” I explained
“Sorry for the wait, let's get you home” He said.
“Where do you live?” He asked.
“One second, let me get my phone out,” I explained.
As Anthony puts his jacket back on, I feel a buzz coming from my phone. Taking it out I saw an incoming call from my fiance. My Phone was on one percent.

As Anthony puts his jacket back on, I take my phone out to try and find the quickest route home. “Oh my god,” I said, gasping.
Looking at my phone there were three texts and two missed calls from my fiance. But there was one problem, I didn’t wanna go home yet.

I did this story for a assignment I did in class and thought it was the perfect thing to submit. I spent a decent amount of time doing this assignment and put a lot of thought in it.
