Lonely
The glistening drop rolled down her face, shining silver in the moonlight. Her grief destroyed all other emotions. She had struggled a thousand times to pull herself together, but each desperate attempt failed. Her breaths came faster as she strained to get enough air into her heaving lungs, but it was never enough. Her longing for someone to be there for her was so strong she didn’t know how no one responded, but then, it was just in her head. Her loneliness screamed for someone to relieve it, but those who would have answered were gone. All she wanted was someone to hold her, to keep her safe, to tell her it was all right, but as each moment passed, it was obvious that no one was coming.
