All Is Calm
I lay and stare up at the ceiling, the sounds of water flowing echoing around me. Moss and vines grow up the sides of the walls with a soft bioluminescent glow, the area itself being cool and slightly damp.
I take in a deep breath as I listen to the sounds of the water, no other noises present in the underwater grotto. This, here, is my happy place. The place I feel most calm and comfortable.
Away from the prying eyes of the world, I can finally be at total peace. Without judgment, without hate, without anyone else but me.
I feel happy.
I take in another breath of cool, damp air, and relish in the calmness of the moment, knowing that I will have to return to my normal life at some point.
But, for now, I will stay here and forget about the world outside. With the cold stone against my back, I drift off to sleep.
