The River of Freedom
I stand here looking past the deep blue river and past the tall, rigid mountains. What is it like beyond this? What’s over the river bend? Maybe the water, along with all the Earth as we know it, falls. I could fall into emptiness and so much of nothing. I want to cross the river and flow with the beautiful ripples; ripples that remind me of my life thus far. This is home. I swim in the cool, blue river, along with nature. I climb the brown, steep mountains, with the air and the voices of the wind. I choose to be here because this is me. This quiet haven is my adventure; the adventure of eternity and purity. Nothing bad happens here. It is blocked from hatred and the life of sin. Maybe that is what’s over the river bend: sin. I step into the river of my future, of my present. And at this time, right now, I’m free. And it is beautiful.
