A Twist In Romance

I was slow dancing with my crush. I noticed his smile and his hand placement on my hips. I was about to tell him that I loved him when he pulled away, brought a stranger over and said, “Have you met my boyfriend?" I stood stunned seeing the happy couple smiling blissfully at me.

I think it was a little short. I guess that sort of works though since it was such a shock, but i think it would work better as an ending to a story, next time build up to it, so that it's more of a shock to the reader. Make us as shocked as you were. But i do like the twist,i think it's interesting.
