On Childhood
A blend of giggles and wide smiles. Playing Hide-and-go-seek. Stifling laughs while crouching in hiding; not wanting to be found. Ever.
Digging in the sandbox. Going on treasure hunts as if there was actually something majestic to be found. Fortresses made of pillows, umbrellas or even snow given the right conditions. Construction paper, glitter and Elmer’s glue. Uncooked pasta collages and finger paintings on the windows. Stains on clean shirts and sticky hands. Crumbs on chins and spilled milk. And going to sleep at night dreaming of tomorrow.
