The Devastated Packers Fan
“Oh boy, that was an amazing game to end the season with!” Yelled George.
“Yeah, I know! Brett Favre is such an awesome quarter back!” Jim replied with excitement.
Me and Jim, my best friend, left lambeau field with excitement and joy. We love to attend all the home games in Green Bay. We are definitely one of the craziest fans of Brett Favre! He is my number one hero and always will be no matter what!
That game meant so much to me because it was Favre’s last game before he retires. I had a very strong feeling he was going to retire because of his age.
About two months after that game, my dad informed me that Brett Favre has announced he wants to come back and join the Packers to play again! In my short life of only 13 years, that moment was one of the greatest moments of my life!
The first thing I did was sprint to the phone to call Jim. We were very shocked and extremely happy that we will get to witness Favre play for our home team, the Packers.
Eventually, I heard that the team didn’t want Favre back on the team! That made me furious! I was so frustrated with the head coach! I was wondering what was going on in his head. Brett Favre is a legend. Why would they not want him back?
The weekend after, my dad informed me that he had some bad news to tell me. Thoughts were racing through me mind like jet planes. My dad explained with depression, “Favre is in the draft and going to get traded!”
My stomach sunk and I thought there is no way I can see Favre in any other jersey than a packer’s jersey!
I was so frustrated. I thought it was not so bad, as long as he doesn’t go to the Jets. I despise the Jets! If Brett goes to the Jets I will be devastated.
The next day, you will never guess what happened… Brett Favre is now the starting quarter back for the New York Jets!
After a frustrating week of disappointment from me and everyone in Green Bay. Finally, I realized that I will just have to get over it. I realized that there really is nothing I can do about it and nothing I can do to change anyone’s mind.
