The Lonely Bunnies
Easter is over.
Everybody puts us away until next year.
We’re pretty bummed.
We know it happens every year, but we don’t like it.
Stores remove my friends and I from their shelves, replacing us with more flowers and summer supplies.
Decorations of us are taken down from windows in homes, put back in boxes, away from each other in dusty attics…
But… Ah, that’s it! A pet! You can still buy us as pets in your local pet store!
Easter is over and we’re still pets in stores!
We’re fuzzy and warm, super nice, and great pals.
Please buy us.
Easter’s over.
We’re lonely.

I wrote this the day after Easter. I love Easter and I was sad that it was over.
