Prom Night In Las Vegas
It was prom night in the suburbs of Las Vegas. The neighborhood buzzed with excitement as teenagers prepared for the dance.
Mike Tyson didn’t even want to go. He sat on the steps of the auditorium, looking irritated. Couples flooded into the front doors causing Mike to shift out of the way until he eventually left the steps, and walked to the back of the building. Black clouds crawled across the navy sky, not even the moon could be seen in the crowd. The parking lot in front of him was illuminated by a few streetlights.
Did I mention that the Mike Tyson in this story is a skinny caucasian teenager? No relation to the boxer. In fact, Mike refuses to fight in all scenarios, even if it’s self-defense. Anyway, the parking lot was full of cars. A lot of intimidating young men popped out from behind a SUV. Dable Dawkins, a football player, led the group of boys.
“Well, if it isn’t Mike Tyson, where’s your prom date?”
“Leave me alone Dable, I’m not in the mood.”
“What are you gonna do, knock me out?”
Mike got ran until the laughs faded from his ears. He decided if he went inside the guys would leave him alone. The dance was nicely decorated, a casino theme. The kids danced and had a good time. Mike scanned the room, then he found Dable and his friends crowding around a cellphone. Dable put the phone to his ear, and got very serious. Mike sat down with a glass of punch, and relaxed for what seemed like five minutes. Suddenly, all the students shuffled around in front of the door. Then, the group parted, and a strong looking man waked to the center of the room.
“ WHERE IS MIKE TYSON!” said Evander Holyfield.
Mike started to sweat, what should he do? He slowly stood up.
“That-that’s me sir.” trembled Mike.
“I’ve been looking for you Mike Tyson, you will pay for that night.”
“Wha-what night, sir.”
“THE NIGHT YOU BIT OFF MY ear!” boomed Evander.
What is he talking about? His ear? What do I have to do with this?
“NOW I AM GOING TO BEAT YOU UP!”
“No! Please don’t sir! I’m not sure what happened to your ear, but I’m sorry!”
Evander Holyfield advanced with his fists raised.
“I’m sorry! I’m Sorry!”
Mike cringed as he prepared to take a harsh blow. This was it for him. All his life he struggled with bullies, school, and rejection. Now, it would all come to an end. Holyfield brought his fist back, and began to swing. Then, he stopped, and spoke.
“All I ever wanted was an apology from you. It was never about my ear, it was about how you never said sorry.”
“Sorry! Sorry!”
“I forgive you, Mike Tyson, I forgive you.”
The students began to move to the music, and resumed normal activity. The night wasn’t so gloomy anymore. Mike felt relieved, and he forgot about the fact that he didn’t have a prom date. Because…
Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield danced for twelve rounds, and the night was a knockout.
