Mr. Bully
Dear Mr. Bully,
We have an urgent message for you: You can’t look down upon us forever.
We are an angry group of people, and every time you look down upon us like that, we get angrier. Our anger is slowly festering, steadily boiling, and one day it’s going to erupt and spill flames.
You can’t look down upon us forever; every time you speak to us as if you’re superior, every time you tell us what to do, every time you act like you’re the better and we’re the stupid, you awaken a part of a monster that sleeps within us. Our uncontrollable hate towards you shimmers and smokes; you can’t see it just by looking at our empty, pale faces, but yes, our anger is bubbling within us and let me tell you, it’s not going to implode. It’s going to explode, and you’ll be blasted into smithereens.
History has proven that you can’t look down upon a population for eternity; it’s not sustainable. You may have the upper hand for a very long time, but every day, week, and year you look down upon us, our red anger grows stronger. Our black hate swirls faster.
Little do you know that you’re treading on paper-thin floors, so tread gently and make sure you enjoy every second of it.
Maybe I’m a little sorry because it might be true that you’re better than us, that you deserve more than us. Maybe it’s true that you’re more intelligent, more beautiful, more articulate than us, but can’t you see that it doesn’t matter? It doesn’t matter what you think, and it doesn’t matter if you’re right or wrong because we are an angry group of people and we think that we don’t deserve to be looked down upon. We don’t care if you have the ability to make decisions for humanity; we’re an angry group of people and we don’t want you looking down upon us.
Maybe I’m a little sorry because it might be true that you can’t help being born more privileged than us, that you can’t help being better than us. Maybe you can’t help it that you’re born with more friends, more skills, more power, but can’t you see that we don’t care? We don’t care if that God gave you these gifts, and we don’t care that you don’t have any moral obligation to sacrifice your inheritance for us because we are a tired group of people and we are tired of the way you are treating us. It doesn’t matter if your ancestors worked hard to give you what you have today; we’re a tired group of people and we don’t you to treat us like this.
An angry population never stays quiet for long, and you’re making us angrier every day. You’re treading on a paper-thin floor, and you’d better tread lighter because we are tired and sick of the way we are treated. There is nothing worse in the world than to be looked down upon, to be told you’re inferior, to be silenced. So yes, we are angry. We are angry to the point of irrationality, angry to the point of insanity, angry to the point of no return.
We’re not going to stay looked down for long.
We’re not going to stay inferior for long.
We’re not going to stay silent for long.
So tread lightly, Mr. Bully, tread lightly. You’re treading on paper-thin floors, and one day we’re going to rupture that paper.
Sincerely,
An Angry People
