My Fake Obituary
After graduating from Colorado Christian University with a masters in Literature Arts, Jeremiah Furlow got his first real job as an assistant manager at Office Depot. He worked there for 2 years before he got fired for attempting to steal a Smart Printer in the middle of the night. He forgot to account for the cameras all over the building, and got caught by the security guard who was usually oblivious. When Jeremiah was asked why he wanted the printer, he said, “I need a printer in order to publish my novels. I didn’t want to pay 2,000 bucks for a printer so I thought I could just ‘borrow’ it from the store I work for.” After that, he decided to work for a library. This is where he got most of his inspiration. He would stay after work for hours and hours reading all sorts of books. He didn’t do it for the books, however. He knew a girl that would go there every day to read, get on the computer, and just hang out. He didn’t know that this girl would be his wife.
He took ideas from some books and combined them with others, and he even took ideas from his life. Then, he finished his first work. The day after he finished it, he published it, giving him the title of an author. After that, he quit working at the library, and of course the girl noticed, and tried to stay in touch with him. Eventually, he took her out and a year later, they were happily married in his home church. They were perfect because she illustrated the cover for his books.
His first book sold 2.3 million copies, and his second sold 6.2 million. He won several awards and was considered the best author of the 2020-2040 decades. He got New York Times Best Seller 2 times in that time frame, and got 15 total.
Before he published his second book, he and his wife decided they wanted a child. They later figured out that she could not bear children, and decided to try and adopt, to fulfill his wife’s dream since high school to have a daughter. They were able to adopt, and got the child. Her name was Melody. Just a month later, Melody was diagnosed with Cancer. Jeremiah treated Melody as much as he possibly could, but the child died at the age of 6. They both decided that God wanted them to wait for them to have a child. So they did.
When Jeremiah turned 35, he and his wife moved back to Texas to comfort his dying grandfather. He worked for his grandfather when he was 17, and loved him a lot. He was infected with skin cancer from working outside too much without the right skin protection. He died at the age of 84, which is a long life for someone infected with skin cancer. After living in East Texas for a year, he and his wife moved back to Colorado to continue their search for a child.
A few years after Jeremiah published his 3rd book about his grandfather, he and his wife adopted a child from Puerto Rico. It was a girl who was 2 at the time named Victoria. Even though the girl wasn’t their own, they definitely loved her like their own. Jeremiah was 38 and his wife was 37 when they adopted her.
About a year later, Jeremiah wanted to meet Victoria’s birth mother. So he did. When he did so, he got immediate inspiration for his fourth and most successful book which sold a little over 33 million copies. It sold 17 million digitally. It was a story about Victoria’s birth mother and what she went through in Puerto Rico. It was very inspirational.
6 years after that, he wrote 12 more books, but none of them were more successful than his 4th book. He then started pursuing music. He composed a few pieces and got a reward for one of them. It was used in a movie in 2047 which was considered the best movie of the year.
When he turned 50, he stopped working completely and focused on his life at home. He supported his daughter in everything she did. She was 14 at the time and was really into sports. Later on, when Jeremiah was 52, Victoria made it to Varsity Football as a freshman kicker. He loved his family, and only 7 years after Victoria graduated, Jeremiah died of a heart attack at the age of 61. His wife and his daughter was left with his house and his money. 4 years later his wife died of an unknown cause. Many think it was from depression. His daughter Victoria is now the first female NFL star in history. She plays kicker for the Indianapolis Colts, her father’s favorite team, and is living a happy life.
