18 Inch Fish
I caught an 18 inch fish
Chapter 1: 18 Inch Fish 18 Inch Fish
By: Nick Troeger
SPLASH! All I heard was a fish jumping. I was reeling in as hard as I could. I thought the line was going to snap. This fish felt like a truck on my pole. My pole was curved and look like a candy cane.
We were sitting on our big pontoon. It was all quite then something took it like a truck. At first I thought it was a turtle and I thought I would break the line. Then I realize it was a fish so I started to reel it in fast. The reason I knew that was because I saw it jump. As soon as I saw it jump I knew it was going to be a real good fight.
All we heard was my drag on my reel spinning and I was fighting really hard.
“This fish is putting up a fight,” I said.
The mouth had to be like three inches wide and four in height, the mouth was enormous. As soon as I got the fish in
Everyone commented “ Wow Nick, way to go.”
After that we put the fish in the live well that we have on the boat and took pictures which took forever. After that we keep going with the pontoon ride and I was still catching fish and my cousin was beside me fishing also. We caught like ten or eleven fish that night.
After we hooked the boat up I grabbed the fish and I let it go back in the water. When I threw him in he made a huge splash. I said,
“Hopefully I can catch another one of the big ones.”
Then I went fishing off the dock and I thought I caught the same fish again but it was a little bass putting up a little fight. I caught like four more fish off the dock and I went through a huge amount of fake worms that night. Then we did the same ===thing again the next night. All I caught were little ones but I still enjoyed catching them. The thing I like the most about summer is fishing.
“I really hope that I will beat my record of fish in one summer,” I said.
The most I’ve caught is over 100 and four of them are eighteen or nineteen inch bass. I really hope there are really huge bass next year. What I learned is that big bass put up big fights.
