A Modest Proposal: A Satirical Solution for the Melting of the Ice Caps in the Poles

FOR PREVENTING THE ESCALATION AND LONG TERM PERPETUATION OF THE MELTING OF THE ICE CAPS
It ancholy object to the people who seem to be taking such great care of our universe. Since these people are doing such a great job the ice caps in the poles are melting. The region that is being affected is the North and South pole which includes, Antarctica, Greenland, and the arctic. The 4 million people that live in these regions are having their homes melt right from under their feet because of global warming that is causing the ice caps to melt. Scientists first discovered this problem when it was feeling warmer than usual in these regions at times when it wasn’t suppose to be that high of temperature. If this problem isn’t fixed soon that means that the ice caps will continue to melt, sea level will begin to rise, and then our world will start to be underwater. 

I think it is agreed by all parties that the life-threatening occurrence  of the melting of the ice caps in the poles is starting to become an issue. Many people are losing their homes because of this drastic climate change. Many of the animals in this region will not survive because they are not used to such warm temperature that they are experiencing. Someone soon needs to find a solution to this problem and should be rewarded $1,000,000,000 for their efforts.

But my intention is far from being confined to provide only for the betterment of the environment. My solution will decrease the numbers of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, rebuild the atmosphere before it is too late, and help the refreezing of the ice caps in the north. Everyone must act together and start making changes together if we want to make a difference to save the planet before things become too late. If people refuse, then the poles will continue to melt and soon there will be nothing left of the poles. The wildlife living in those regions will soon become extinct and the ice will have become melted. If that happens the the sea levels across the world will rise and the world that we live on would become underwater. This is the most important thing right now and if we don’t act now we will all be swimming in our backyards.

As to my own part, I have studied the proposals of other projectors, and concluded that they are not nearly as efficient as they claim to be. There are simple solutions to this problem such as, reducing the amount of deforestation, reducing the amount of fossil fuels that are being burned, and recycling more. These things are some of the reasons why there is so much carbon dioxide in the atmosphere and why the atmosphere is becoming thinner and thinner. These things are not being pushed enough to the people to actually make a difference to the environment. Many people overlook the effects of doing those things because they think that it won’t make a difference when really it can change everything. If things don’t change soon that means people living in the North and South poles may have an opportunity to swim a full summer. Also, the cities that are right on the coast are going to have to worry more and more about the sea levels rising higher on the beaches. Reducing the amount of fossil fuels burned and using a more eco friendly substance can help the atmosphere drastically.

I will now present my own idea, which I hope will not be subject to any disagreement.

I humbly offer it to public consideration that humankind as cohesive and cooperative unit, should abstain from driving every where and reduce the use of electricity. People need to try and stay away from the things that burn fossil fuels and releasing harmful toxins into the air.   We need to try and start going backwards in time to try and fix things.

In this scenario  people will need to start walking, running, or even ride your bike to places that are nearby. If there is public transportation near by you, you should take the bus, train, or subway to get to your destination instead of driving yourself. Open up the blinds of your homes to use the sunlight as light and unplugging some things before you leave the house will help reduce the use of electricity. By reducing the amount of electricity being used will reduce the amounts of fossil fuels being burned up.

Of course people are going to have to change their ways of living largely. People are dependent on cars to take them everywhere. Also, with the recycling process they have to learn to reuse the things a home instead of throwing them away and going out and buying new ones.

These drastic and sudden changes will be difficult for people that live in the country because everything is not in the walking or biking distance. Many people in the world do need their cars to get to places that they need but 200 years ago people seemed to live and get around to places just fine. If we follow these potential solutions the temperature will change. The North and South poles will start to freeze over once again and the people living in those regions will not have to worry about losing their homes because of the melting as well as the people on the coast will not have to worry about the rising of sea level.

I can think of no valid objection that may be introduced to antagonize this proposal unless it is claimed that people cannot cut down the usage of their vehicles. People are so dependent on their cars to get everywhere that would be a hard task to follow through with. However, if everyone comes together and follows my proposal then we should’ve problem of reaching our goals. If we follow this proposal it will create drastic changes. The population of obesity could possibly go down too because it is forcing people to get up and do some activity.

Again, no one should dare to suggest these notions to me until they have a small spark of hope that these actions may be implemented.

It is not that I do not respect the input of others on the subject of solutions to this topic, but simply that I have been researching this topic for a week or two. My solution is the best because it would help cut down the amounts of carbon dioxide that the atmosphere contains and that is the leading cause of global warming causing the ice caps to melt.
