A Modest Proposal: A Satirical Solution for Texting and Driving.

For Preventing the Escalation and Long Term Perpetuation of Texting and Driving.

It is a melancholy object to: Other who are living on this planet and are subject to injuries from other people texting and driving. In 2014, distracted driving injured and estimated 431,000 and killed 3,179. Many people believe however that the death number is a lot higher than it is, but most people aren’t going to willingly tell the police they killed someone because they were texting on their phone and couldn’t wait until they were stopped.

I think it is agreed by all parties that the life threatening occurrence:  of texting and driving is a serious matter to everyone around the world. So, anyone who can find this almighty solution for texting and driving and have it be cost effective, should be rewarded the Darwin Award for their amazing hard work and dedication.

But my intention is far from being confined to provide only for the betterment of : your experience in your car, your life will become much more safe and you won’t have to get in your car and think about other distracted drivers(Exaggeration, there are still tons of other things that you will have to worry about in your life and this will only help your life be safer by a tad.), you can just hop in your car and have a nice cruze with yourself or your family.

As to my own part, I have studied the proposals of other projectors, and concluded that they are not nearly as efficient as they claim to be: The more simplistic version of fixing this problem is creating laws making it illegal, but these laws are not working. The groups bringing awareness to distracted driving are also not working and people are dying everyday because of distracted driving. So, there will be a new law implemented that my genius self has come up with(Exaggeration, I am obviously not a genius, i am just trying to make myself sound smarter to influence people that my proposal will work), a law that says you cannot own a car if you already own a phone. This takes away all the chances of texting and driving and there is no possible way for anyone to be distracted on the roads anymore. (Exaggeration, there are still distractions when you are driving with or without phones.)

I will now present my own idea, which I hope will not be subject to any disagreement.

I Humbly offer it to the public consideration that humankind as a cohesive and cooperative unit, should: When you become 16 years old, you will have to make one of the biggest decisions of your life. You will have to pick between a Car or a Phone for the rest of your life. There is not switching you pick what you want, you get what you get and you don’t throw a fit. There is going to be zero distracted and driving accidents(Exaggeration, there will still be distracted driving accidents without smart phones people get distracted by other things.) once this is enforced and the world will be a safer place.

In this scenario: This bill will be implemented into the hopper by the governor, and debated on in the House and the Senate. Everyone is going to vote yes on this bill because it's the best idea that you could possibly think of.

Of Course: After my very first step is completed and goes through the House of Representatives and the Senate it will go to the president's office. The president is going to see the bill and say “Omg this is the best idea i have ever seen!” And he is immediately going to sign the bill into law. This will change the world forever and this world will become so much safer for further generations and we won't have to worry about them driving and being killed at a young age.

These drastic and sudden changes: Now some of the people in the world will not like this law and may argue against it. They may try to get politicians in office so that this law may be repealed and they can have a phone and own a car. But none of your family members, kids, or grandchildren will not be killed by texting and driving, and isn’t that what you want? Your family to be safe?

I can think of no valid objection that may be introduced to antagonize this proposal:  Some people may disagree with my solution, they might argue that it will be harder to communicate in the world if you don't have phones. But you may still own computers to connect with people in the world and communicate effectively. But this law will protect family members innocently getting killed by someone who can't wait until the car is stopped to talk.

Again, no one should dare to suggest these notions to me until they have a small spark of hope that these actions may be implemented.

It is not that I do not respect the input of other on the subject of solutions to this topic, but simply that: I have been reading articles of others solutions and the problems with distracted driving, and i have come up with a cost efficient easy and safe way to end all of our problems that we have with distracted driving and a way to keep future generations safe from these dangers.
