Katrina and the Vampire
“The woods are so peaceful at night, Katrina,” Giovanni says. I lean on him and he wraps his arms around me. The stars are stunningly bright tonight. I gaze up at them, and my eyes slowly find his face. His eyes, narrow and red, are the same color as the ocean… hold on, narrow and red?!? I pull away.
“What’s wrong?” He asks me, as he runs a long finger down my neck. Giovanni leans in for a kiss, fangs bared. Woah, wait, FANGS! I scramble back.
“You…you…fangs…” Words cannot describe the fear that I am feeling now. My feet won’t cooperate with me as I try to run. I hurry into the woods, but my foot gets caught on a root and sends me flying. I skid across the forest floor, skinning my knees and elbows.
“It’s ok, Katrina. It doesn’t hurt too bad…” He murmurs as he shuffles toward me. I get to my feet and turn to run. A strong hand grabs the back of my neck. Giovanni has caught his prey. His head lowers to my neck…
THUNK! I fall to the floor, all wrapped up in my sheets. Giovanni looks up, groggily. When he sees my predicament he drags himself out of bed and helps untangle me.
“Thanks,” I say and I look into his big, blue eyes,
