"Mom why did you marry an American, live in America, and have American kids?" She looked up as if it were some tragedy.

"That's just the way things worked out." She replied with a wise tone.

"That's boring! I'm going to marry a Swedish man, have a baby in China, have another baby in Australia, then settle down in Scotland with my diverse family." She said in a matter-of-fact voice. "Cause thats interesting!" She added progressively.

"You have quite the superficial understanding of interesting." She mumbled as the little girl stood satisfied with her pre-planned out life.

I was mainly inspired to write this peice because I thought in a similar way as the girl portrayed in this piece. (of course this is exaggerated.)

Few words, but great meaning. I imagine the mother finds her life interesting because of her humorous daughter. I further imagine that your family's life is interesting largely due to you.

From the movie adaptation of Going Postal, "The only problem with having a bright tomorrow is getting through the night before."

This is a neat short piece. There really are many tiers to what "interesting" in a family represents these days.
