The year: 1930. As Bonnie Elizabeth Parker’s crime spree with her lover Clyde Barrow happens, I would ask her, “Why? Why start a life for yourself full of trouble and crime? You could have married a nice man, had nice kids, and had a nice homelife.”
I imagine her answer. “Simple darlin,” she would start. “For the rush of it all. I followed my lover into this lifestyle and I’m sticking with him.”
Then, I would ask  her if she ever regretted her choices in life.
“If you asked anyone that question, I’m sure they would all have regrets on some things in their life. What’s the pleasure of being another mother to another couple of kids? What’s the pleasure of havin a husband who comes home from a boring ol’ job working in the factories? For me, nothing. I wanted my Clyde and this is the lifestyle he comes with, so be it.”
And with that, she would walk away.
The year: 2016. Looking at Bonnie’s life 82 years after her death, she showed that in life, we don’t always know what we’re getting ourselves into, and we don’t know how we’ll end up. When thinking of historical people, most think of the hero’s in life, or the most influential people. The ones who make history not for the better go most unnoticed, when in fact they might have the most interesting stories to tell.
