Oh No I Fell

Me and my group had been climbing up Mount Fuji, it had been one of my first climbs so I was trying to go for the safest options, and apparently Mount Fuji was the way to go. I still knew that it had hazards, so I made sure to bring what I needed. The essentials for any climb were climbing shoes, rope, a helmet, and more human essentials (according to google.) The climb was going pretty well, and we were about halfway to the peak. It was getting late, so we decided to travel a little longer then set up camp.

“Man, I’m a little tired, can we sit down for a second?” I asked, slightly panting to emphasize my point. They had agreed.

I sat down on a nearby log, it seemed sturdy enough. Then, I felt something crack beneath my feet, the land I had sat down on my not actually stable, or even land. All that stood beneath me and the empty vast air...was the thin log I was sitting on. I tried to get off the log and out of the way quickly, but I couldn’t. A split second ago I was relaxing, and now I was tumbling down at a high speed. I was in shock, I couldn’t move my body to try and grab the branches that hit me. Luckily, the branches did soften the fall enough so that I couldn’t die. Once I stopped falling, I started to heave for air, my whole body felt a stinging pain, and I could hear a ringing in my ears, my consciousness started to fade away, and I let it.

Some time later my eyes started to flutter open, in the distance I could hear my group frantically run towards me, heh... I couldn't believe they had traveled back down to find me. I had a headache and my whole body felt tired and sore, but at least I knew that I was safer now that my friends had arrived.
