It was a confusingly hot but  cloudy day and my grandpa was planning on going to funtown today, because it was a nice day. I thought to myself that I would definitely go on all the exciting rides. I had an idea of bringing a friend and Pappy said I could bring one, so I asked if Nick could come, but he was snoozing because he watched a movie for too long. So then I just decided to bring Gavin since I know he is pretty much never outside of Sidney.

“Hello?” I said over the phone.

“Who is this?” Gavin asked.

“It’s Lucas, Want to go to funtown with me and Pappy?” I asked.

“Sure, let me get ready.” Gavin said.

“Ok, see you at his house.” I told him.

“Ok see you there.” He replied.

“Bye.”

“Bye.”

After he came over and got situated we were ready to go and set up directions. Then we went to go pick up some food. Me and Gavin were contemplating on getting hotdogs, so we went to the convention stand nearby and got some. After waiting for what felt like eternity, we were about 5 minutes away from funtown so then we got all our stuff together and were ready to go.

When we got there I said the first thing that we should probably do is get lockers for our things just so that we didn't lose them. So we shoved everything in a small locker and got dressed.

After we had all of our things in a place we could remember to access it from, we were off to the dry rides (Funtown). We almost went on all the rides, but my favorite ride was either the Excalibur or the log ride, they were both super fast paced and I really could not decide which one I would say was definitely my favorite one out of the two. So after we went on all the rides, we decided to get some food. I thought the food didn’t look very edible, but we just decided to eat it anyway just to get something in our stomach. Then I said that we might want to get dressed to go to Splashtown so that's what we did after.

“Let's go on the giant tubey thingy.” I said.

“Sure thing.” Gavin agreed.

So I spotted it and then pointed straight at it and told Gavin to run before the line got long. As we were tirelessly jogging up the stairs we reached the top, letting our lungs catch up with the rest of our bodies. Then I thought I passed out. I was so ready to go down the slide, I could feel the blood rushing through my veins. My heart was beating hard. I was a snake, cold blooded. The lifeguard asked if I was ready and I said “I will be after.”

“3, 2, 1” The electronic voice counted down.

I held my breath, shut my eyes tight, and hoped I would make it out alive.

“WHOOSH!” I went.

I was going faster than I ever had in my life for a split second and then I got shoved right and left, twist and turn until I finally reached the end where there was a big pool.

“Woah, that was awesome! I went faster than Usain Bolt!” I exclaimed.

“I know, right?” Gavin answered.

After that, I felt less of a kid and more of a man. I felt like Brian Shaw. I was ready to take on skydiving next. Or even something more exciting than that!

After the day ended, I felt outstanding.

And now it's only to wait for the next time we go there. So I really can’t wait to go again. After I got home I went hard on the couch and started snoozing.
