100 Word Narrative
The forest buzzed with the comforting sound of cicadas. My cousins and I made our way along the path that had been made through the forest and to the pond on the other side, which was indicated by the occasional tree stump. Both of my cousins were faster than I, and they soon got ahead of me. Walking slowly, I came to a stop when I saw no next stump. I started to panic. Luckily, my cousins found me very soon. They apologized for leaving me behind, and we continued our path, but the cicadas’ cries no longer comforted me.
