Natta
There once was an elephant named Natta. She lived in captivity in Asia. She did not know what lay beyond the concrete walls of her enclosure. All her life she wanted to know what was beyond the dreary, grey walls of her pen.
Natta couldn’t forget the day when her mom was taken away. It happened a few days after she was born. The men in green suits held Natta back and they took her mom away.
All Natta had in her life was Bobo. Bobo was her stuffed penguin. She loved Bobo very much. Bobo had comforted Natta after her mom had been taken away.
All Natta wanted was to escape this death pen that the men in green suits put her in. She wanted to live her life in the wild, find her mom, and escape the bad memories that haunt her at night.
Natta launched an escape plan. When the sun sets, then she would start banging on the door until it breaks. Then she would run to the exit and to go into the jungle.
That night, Natta set her plan into action. When Natta tried to smash the doors, the doors snapped like twigs. Once she broke the doors, she picked up Bobo in her trunk and ran out the door. Soon after she did this she wondered where the entrance to the place was. She wandered around the place until her legs grew tired. When it seemed like all hope of getting out was lost, she finally found the exit.
When she saw the entrance, she realized that hope for a new life was just a few feet away. She found new strength and ran to the gates and into the jungle.
She let out a triumphant toot and collapsed. “I did it!” she thought.
A rustling in the bushes behind her startled her. A grey shape came bounding out of the bushes. Natta did not recognize the shape at first but after a moment then she realized that it was her mom.
“TOOT!” Natta’s mom said happily.
“Toot!” said Natta joyfully.
After all those years, Natta finally got to see her mom again. Natta had escaped the terrible enclosure that she had been trapped in.
Natta, her mom, and Bobo were finally all together again.
