I'm Sorry For Our Loss

int. bedroom

A man and his wife are getting dressed in formal attire, and the clothing is very dark.The man is adjusting his tie and he woman is putting on jewelry. Their clothing suggests they are going to a funeral. The two are not speaking to each other. The woman applies her makeup and the man watches her lovingly in the mirror. They leave without a word spoken. The woman is visibly upset.

int. car

The woman is driving and pulls up to a funeral home. She takes a deep breath but still struggles to keep from crying. The man puts his hand on her shoulder to console her. She pulls herself together and gets out of the car.

ext. parking lot

Wife walks to the door of the funeral home, with the husband behind her. Her hands are shaking as she opens the door. He is wondering why she is acting so coldly to him, but he brushes it off.

int. funeral parlor

People look to the door and see the wife enter with the husband. They immediately swarm to her with their condolences and comfort her. The husband is pushed out of the swarm. He walks around the room finding the guests are everyone he knows. He sees his childhood friends, his coworkers, family etc. He gets anxious and can't understand why they are all there. He tries to hug his cousin-she walks away. Hed. He begins to talk louder and eventually yell, and panics when he 78 everyone is ignoring him completely and he does not understand why.Finally he sees his mother standing over a casket, crying. He puts his arm around her but she does not acknowledge him. He looks down at the casket and everything becomes clear. His dead body is in the casket. He is at his own funeral. Horrified, his eyes dart around the room to see his wife and other loved ones mourning his death, and goes into a hysterical frenzy. As this happens he begins to fade away. After he does, there is a dolly shot of the whole funeral, going out the door into the parking lot and pans up toward the sky.
