Five Minutes

“Five minutes left.” My teacher shouts as I’m trying to finish my test. I begin to panic and my mind starts to race... in the wrong direction. If it was racing with the answers for my blank questions that would make things better but because of my teacher, my mind is racing on what she just said and I am just wasting more time thinking about the five minutes that are left than the ten questions I still have blank.

We have all been in this situation, your mind is drawing blanks, and everything you studied the night before just flew out the window. There is nothing you can do but to make an “educated guess.” Man, do I hate when teachers tell me to make one of those. Obviously I don’t know and the guess I’m going to make is not educated. I know I’m out of luck now. So teachers please consider the students who can’t focus when you interrupt during their test, and keep your mouth shut. You have a white board and marker that work just as well. Thank you!
