The end of a friend
The end of a friend
It was a beautiful school day, the birds tweeting in their nests, and the roars of hundreds of schoolchildren playing on the monkey bars. However I was not the type of kid that always played on the play structure which in my elementary school, was called the “Big blue”. I usually sat on the creaky benches which were literally 50 years old waiting for one of my bestest friends called Kaveya I had very fond memories with her, so many to be exact. We met in the 1st grade, right after I had moved from Washington D.C. I could never imagine life without her. After about 5 minutes waiting for her, I finally track her down. “Hey Kaveya!” I project, with my hands waving as high as the sky. She doesn’t respond.
“Kaveya?”, I call out her name again, but she still doesn’t respond. “What is going on?” I presume in my head. I try to go up to her to ask her why she doesn’t respond, but then all of a sudden a random girl with a nasty glare and a crooked smile comes up to me and says, “Kaveya does not have time to talk with you anymore.”, and then I see Kaveya behind her adjusting her thick blue reading glasses and flicking her headband around but not a peep from her mouth. “What do you mean?”, I ponder wondering what is exactly going on. “I mean, stay away from Kaveya, she is my friend.” The strange girl says, with rage and aggression in her eyes.
I had a distraught and dumbfounded look on my face. “What is going on?” I questioned Kaveya. “Me and this this girl kind of made a deal, I cannot have any of my other friends besides her.” I then even had more of a bewildered look on my face and my mind almost not being able to handle the situation that was going on. I could feel the tears rolling down my cheeks, I tried really hard to stop crying but by that time my eyes were were wide as a watermelon. “Can I talk with Kaveya for a little bit?” I say almost done with the sorrow and sniffling my nose. “Okay..” says the girl, “But only for a couple of minutes” Afterwards, I go get Kaveya and we talk on the benches for a few moments.
I had so many questions boggled in my head at the instant. I knew I couldn’t ask her all of them but the only thing I asked her is “How did this all happen?” Then Emma had this look of hesitation, she had shaky body gestures and looked very tense. “I would rather not tell you..” “Why not?” I suspiciously asked. Kaveya then rolled her head for a little bit and then said “I have to go, sorry see you later” She then quickly sprinted away to somewhere in the school I did not know about. I soon then never talked to her again because turns out that one of the friends in our social circle said that Emma then moved to lake tahoe. My mind then completely rambled on. “Why didn’t she tell me?” one part of my mind said. “It’s okay”, another part said. I never found out why she did not explain. I then just decided to move on.

This was based on a memory from the 3rd grade where I lost a friend. Not all of this is completely true as it is realistic fiction. The events are based off of events in the past.
