Loneliness
I saw you sitting at the bar, alone. I wanted to comfort you, give you a hug. Heck, your mother just died. But I knew you didn’t want my help. You didn’t want to see me again. Hours later you stumble out, blinded by the bright lights. I hail a taxi for you, making sure you get inside. You don’t resist. My face is a blur, unrecognizable in your state. You pass out in the back seat, smelling of strippers, alcohol, and vomit. I give the taxi driver your address and pay him. You won’t remember any of this tomorrow.
