Should Have Listened
Joel’s toes were massaged by the soft, white sand beneath him. The Sun has just peeked above the trees to his rear. Extending for what seemed like an eternity in a north-south direction was Lake Michigan; in all of its glorious majesty. He smiled as he stepped into the waves. Suddenly, he was grabbed by the current and pulled under. He gasped for air, but his lungs filled with fluid. He was blinded by swirling sand. As he was dragged further and further from shore, he thought: I shouldn’t have snuck out, I should have listened to Father.
