Blue, green, red, white, sparkles began to unfurl in the sky. I have never seen anything like it. It was something magical and prepossessing. I had no idea what these magical sparkles are called so, I asked my mommy. She told me that they’re called fireworks. Everyone from my family were wearing funny clothing that I’ve never seen before. It appeared that they were wearing stripped and star covered clothing. All the decorations were either blue, red, or white.

Then, out of nowhere, I heard a weird and rumbling noise coming inside from my tummy. I realized that I was getting hungry. I walked over to my older sister and yanked her dress. She glanced down at me and gave me a weird look that I have never seen before. She placed her red, plastic, cup down on the table and asked me what I wanted. My taste buds begin to water as I imagined a cheeseburger and chips on my paper plate. As I was telling my older sister that I wanted a cheeseburger and chips, my hunger began to settle down. Right when I was going to ask her for my apple juice, she left. I was confused to why she would leave me stranded out in the backyard. She probably had something more important than serving her little sister.

I went back to lay down on my back to watch the fireworks. They made a loud “BANG” sound that would make me cover my ears up. My Mommy placed me in a white, floral, sundress to celebrate who knows what. She placed a red hair bow in my curly, soft, dark brown hair. I also wore these white funny looking shoes that appear to not have a strap to keep me from tripping. It was night time of course and my mommy called me over for my bedtime. She took me by the hand and took my dress off. She tucked me to bed and read the three little pigs. Before my mommy left, I asked her where she was going. She turned around and said that they were gonna clean up the mess from the party. She tiptoed over to the door and gently closed it. I turned to the left side of my bed to look out the window as I was falling asleep. Just when I was closing my eyes and falling asleep, I saw the biggest firework. It looked way more than a firework. It almost looked like a big exploding mushroom. It didn’t have colors around it but, It made the loudest “BANG ” I ever heard. It was so precious and enchanting as it was spreading.

My mommy slammed the door open and quickly applied my socks and shoes on. I had so many questions on my mind and asked her what was going on? I couldn’t understand as she kept stuttering her words. As I kept staring at her with fear, I saw a tear slither down to her cheeks. She carried me over her shoulders and walked outside to the car. My mommy buckled me too tight that I felt like I couldn’t breath. I saw my daddy trembling with fear and mommy crying nonstop. My older sister was crying and shouting “GO!” I noticed that my family were still in their pj’s. The car window was open and I decided to look out the window. The same firework appeared even bigger than before. This time, wind was blowing harder and faster.Dust was flying around and fire swirling upon the dark, ashy, skies.

With excitement, I started clapping my hands and enjoyed the lovely fireworks upon the sky. The enjoyment of watching fireworks was one of the best things that ever happened to me. When we arrived to the ocean, mommy unbuckled me and dashed to dock. We weren’t the only ones by the ocean, hundreds of people were out too. I heard sobbing, shouting, police alarms, and kids crying. My mommy struggled as she shoved all the people out of the way. I saw at least 30 boats in the ocean filled with people. I turned back and asked my mommy once again what was happening. She didn’t hear me as she was shouting. My daddy and sister were right behind mommy.

Mommy looked over me with a tears dripping softly from her red, blushed, cheeks and whispered, “You will always be in my heart Isabella. It’s hard to say goodbye since I contaminated you with all my love and affection. I promise to find you soon. Once I find you, I wish to die in your arms.” Mommy gently turned my head around to her direction and stared into my beautiful, gleaming, blue eyes. She held me out to an ugly, dirty, random guy that I have never seen before. The next thing I know, I was in a boat filled with strangers.

The boats were ready to sail off to the ocean. Inch by inch, the boat sailed away from the dock. I looked straight ahead to my mommy, daddy, and sister to wave bye. I looked upon the stars and started to ask questions. I guess an old elderly women heard me talking to the stars. She sat by me and asked me if I knew what was happening. I shook my head no. She explained that a war was between North Korea and the US. As she was explaining, I saw the same firework spark in the sky from miles away. I asked what kind of firework it was and she gave me a disappointing look. She told me that it was no firework, it was a nuclear bomb. My lips started to quiver with fear. I told her what was going to happen to my parents. Her lips started to quiver as she said,“ Your parents are going to rest somewhere safe where no danger happens.”After that, she didn’t speak to me. It was quite and still. The moon was gleaming bright white. I realized that this was the beginning of a new end.

Fireworks in general, inspired me to write this story. Fireworks  remind me of bombs spreading in the air, but they're not beautiful when they spread in the sky. Once you get older, you get to realize more and more about your surroundings and the things that are happening in the world. Kids in America think they have it better. In other parts, war might be happening.
