August 2022 Fiction Contest: Not Why, But How
They ask me what it is. They ask why I’m head over heels for you. What happened for me to be like this? If I’m honest, it’s not why I'm in love with you. How could I not? How could I not when every time I hear your name my heart races faster than a car on a speedway. How could I not when I still jump around like a kid waiting for you to respond to me over text? How do I not fall in love with someone who makes the world stop when I see them?
I can’t not.
