It Was Always You
I didn’t know it was you that wrote that love note when my boyfriend broke up with me. The note said exactly what I wanted to hear. I looked up and saw that you were staring at me. The smile painted across your face looked more like a smirk. I thought you were laughing at my tear-streaked face. I slammed my locker and stomped into the sea of teenagers. It was you I met at the masquerade ball. The next day, when you asked me out on a date, I didn’t even suspect you. It wasn’t until I met you down an aisle, dressed in white, did I finally realize, “It was you all along” I whispered. You just smiled and nodded. When said our I do’s and our lips met. This kiss was different, because I finally realized it was you all along.
