Reason and Love keep little company nowadays
Fingers intertwined, they stepped lightly along the stone path littered with yellow orange and red. A whispering breeze blew dark stands of her hair out of place and he reached to place them back, brushing her cheek in the process. A shudder crept up her spine, but whether it was from his touch or the brisk autumn air, not even she knew. He faced her then, his eyes searching hers for the answers to his soundless questions. Her red lips parted in protest as their two breaths became one. With a playful smile he responded to her thoughts: “Reason and love keep little company nowadays.” He leaned closer, placing his hand upon her cheek and looking deep into her blue eyes. Their lips touched as the sun fell low behind the clouds and the sky blushed.
