Dear Mary,
Do you remember the time we won the lottery? I was at lunch when I heard the numbers that I left work right there and went straight home and picked you up and spun you around and shouted “Honey, we won the Lottery!” you had that big smile on and looking me right in the eye with those big blue diamonds, told me you didn’t need the lottery; that you were already the richest woman on earth. All I could do was love you more, I set you down, said that “were goanna be living it up with the rich folks from now on, I can get me one of those shiny monocles and never use it”, you smiled at that, but your face went sour, and I asked what was wrong, you told me about people winning the lottery and it turns out to cause nothing but heartache, conflicts on what to do with the money and such. You said that you didn’t want that to happen to us, I thought about it and I took the ticket and I slipped into a coffee can and put it back on the top self, I put my finger to my lips and gave you a wink, and we hugged; You said “I love you” and I said “I know”. Eight years passed in a blink of an eye but I never forgot about that ticket, it was a symbol, that no earthly thing could break us apart. Now I’m writing to you from next to your hospital bed, it’s difficult with my hand in yours, but I manage. The doctors say you have a bug called TSE, but that’s all it is. I took out the ticket to pay for your treatments and the best doctors around. Mary, I just want you to come back to me… I never cared about money, or fame, as long as I have you, which is all I’ve ever needed. I miss you very much and I will read this to you as soon as you wake up. The doctors are goanna take you for another surgery now, I left you a kiss on the forehead, and I eagerly wait for your return.
Sincerely,                 The Richest Man In The World
