The Gamble
"Alright so this is gonna be a quick in and out thing man, we
shouldn't really have to get rid of anyone unless they try
something… you get me?" Vince said to his partner Marcellus."I
don't know man; these guys after all did screw over Jules… you
really wanna take that chance? Besides I think we should've had
shotguns for this job anyway." They were both hitmen for their
huge Los Angeles based crime lord Jules. Today they were
supposed to go and pick up a package from some college kids
who had money smuggled to them for pickup.
Of course when you're in a city full of criminals, working for the
biggest one in the city wordis gonna get out, and boy does it get
out fast. I heard about this last night from a buddy of mine, and I
figured it'd be nice to get back at Jules for what he did to me.
You see I have a problem… well more of an addiction for me… I
love to gamble, and well Jules has a great underground gambling
ring, that is if you don't beat him at his own game.
It was a Friday night and I had just gotten into the city. I had
my money to use for that night at Jules' place. As usual the plan
was to have em go all in and then go in for the kill.Of course
Jules went in and took the bait. I ended up taking all his money. I
thought it was simple and over like that. Boy was I wrong. Next
thing I knew, I was held at gunpoint and there was Jules... As
angry as ever. He pulled out a bunch of tools, and said he should
go to work onme, but he said he wanted to warn me this time.
He got some pliers and broke two of my fingers. At this point I'm
panicking but... The car stops. I'm dragged out and shot in the
leg. I'm told to "get the hell out of the city". That was a long
horrible night. Since then I had sworn revenge on Jules for
making me swallow my pride like that.
So now...here I am about to run up on these two guys and take,
this package for myself. Of course I'm not doing this all by
myself. No... I brought a couple buddies with me. Now we have
this huge guy,Bill. Now Bill is about a six foot ten gladiator born
in the wrong time period. He can't turn down a fight if his life
depended on it. He at first even insisted I shouldn't even pay him
because he just "wants to fight alongside his ol pal Johnnie". So
yeah there's him and there's also my much more mysterious
"friend" if you will, Mr. White. Now Mr. White is a veryinteresting
character because he was a former jewel thief. That's about all
he'll tell me. I kinda prefer it that way.
Anyway we had Marcellus and Vince cornered, and they didn't
even know it. Mr.White was setup on the top of a building across
from them while Bill and myself were waiting in a car near them.
We waited for them for what seemed like hours. We heard some
gunshots and assumed they either killed those college kids or
were killed themselves. Then we see Vince come out followed by
Marcellus, with Vince holding a package. It was time. Bill and I
drove up in front of them and pointed a gun at them and
Mr.White had his sights on them as well. They got in and we told
them we needed the package. I had asked them what was in the
package anyway and why Jules wanted it so bad. All what I got
was a "screw you". This ticked off Bill and he broke Marcellus's
hand in anger. Vince freaked out and told us everything we
needed to know. That package was laundered money, about one
and a half million dollars in cold hard cash. Bill and I were trying
to figure out what to do with Vince and Marcelus, we had already
told Mr.White to just wait for us at the safe house. We figured to
bag their heads and leave them somewhere deserted. I didn't
wanna kill anyone except Jules. When we got back to the safe
house I told Mr. White my plan. I was going to go back and
gamble with Jules again. Of course this was probably suicide...
But nobody is going to embarrass me like that. Mr.White
thought I was crazy.
Anyways, I had brought my share of the money to play with
later that night. Jules had welcomed me and said "Welcome back
Johnnie, I thought you had enough? Guess not,". We started to
play and well... I started losing. Jules was enjoying every minute
of it. I finally got him to go all in. I went all in too. I had
won...again. I told Jules that I was the better man. I beat him
twice at his own game. It wasn't luck. I'm better than him and he
has to deal with that for the rest of his miserable life. Jules put a
gun to my head. Nobody else would do it. They all just wanted to
have fun. He was too focused pointing his gun at me that he
didn't realize that I had a gun pointed right at his heart. Seems
we were in quite a sticky situation. We have gone all in all over
again. Seems as though our fate was in the cards again, playing
for our lives.
Bang.
