The Dress
The clock ticked and I layed listening to it for hours. When it struck 2am, I finally closed my eyes involuntarily. The constant ticking was all I could focus on at the time and it just became more and more intense. Finally, it had stopped and the room became dead silent. My wife crawled in bed next to me and I could her sweet innocent voice say “I can’t sleep.” Her perfume was strong and as I shot my eyes open, I looked down at my hand which were clutching the dress she was buried in.
