Valeria is a girl that lives in a lonely place around trees, and a long river that has no end. She lives by herself because her family died in a car accident.  She has a girl best friend named Jazmine, and they are planning to have a sleepover on Valeria’s house. Jazmine asks her parents if she can go,  but they didn’t let her.
“What did your parent’s said?” Valeria asked
“They got mad at me for asking them that question” she replied
“Why?”
“I don’t know they asked me if I’m crazy, or if I want to die”
Valeria gets sad because she wouldn’t be able to have fun with her best friend, and Jazmine is serious.The girls didn’t talked for the rest of the day. The next day Jazmine went running to school, so that she could tell Valeria about what her mom had told her.
“Hey Vale I need to tell you something really important”
“What happen?”
“I asked my mom again”
“What did she said”  “She told me that I can’t go to your house because it’s not a safe place”
“Why does she says that? I’ve been living there since my family died, and nothing bad had happen to me”
“Yeah but..have you got into the river that is near your house?”
“No, but I was thinking about it the other day”
Jazmine looked at Valeria for a long time thinking if she should tell her about the legend of the river. Or if she should just stay quiet, but she wants to tell her because is her best friend.
“Jazmine are you okay?” Valeria asked
“Yeah i’m okay” she replied
Both of them went to class, and Jazmine doesn’t tell her anything about the river. At the end of the school day Valeria asks Jazmine if she wants to go swim with her at the river, but she says no. She decides to tell Valeria what her mom had told her, but she doesn't want to listen to her.
“Valeria I need to tell you something about the river” Jazmin said.
“What about the river?” she said
“You can’t go to swim in that river, we can go to another place to swim if you want but not there!”
  “ Wait, what?”
  “Yea, I don’t want you to swim there okay?”
  “You are just jealous because you don’t live near the most beautiful river in the country, and you don’t have the opportunity to go swim there like I do”
“I’m not jealous, but it’s up to you if you want to go. I’m just letting you know that the river is dangerous”
“Well, thanks for letting me know”
When Valeria gets home she thinks if she should believe what Jazmine had told her, or if she should forget about it. She  decides to forget about it, so she went to swim. When she was walking towards the river she felt that someone was following her, and she heard steps between the trees.
  “Who’s there?” she asked with a scary voice
  “Jazmine is it you? Stop playing, I know that you’re trying to scare me”
But no one answered. She was scared, but she kept walking trying to ignore those noises. Then she didn’t heard the noises anymore, but it started to rain for a short time. When the rain stopped she walked as fast as she could. She finally got there, so she started to take her clothes off. She didn’t know that the river had no end, and when she got in she decided that she would go swimming all the way to the end of the river. She didn’t went to school for weeks, and everybody was worried about her. At the end of the school day Jazmin decided that she would go look for her at her house, but she didn’t wanted to go by herself. She went to her house, and asked her parents if they would go with her. When they go there they didn’t found her.
“Where is she?” Jazmine thought for a moment
“She’s not here honey, I think we should go home” her mom said
“No, I won’t leave until I know that she’s okay” Jazmine replied
She remembered that Valeria wanted to go swim, so she asked her mom where was the river at.
“Where’s the river at?” she asked
Her mom showed her, so she went running towards the river looking for her best friend. Her parents followed her.
“ Jazmin wait, don’t go over there is dangerous” her parents said screaming
She kept on running, when she got there she only found Valerias clothes. She started to cry. Her parents hugged her.
  “It’s my fault” she said with a crying voice
  “No, don’t say that” her mom replied
“It’s the truth, I should’ve told her everything about the river”
  “You try to tell her, but she didn’t wanted to listen”
  “I should’ve told her anyways, and she would be alive”
  “We don’t know if she’s dead yet”
Jazmin hugged her mom really hard, and then they went to the police office. They told everything that had happened since Valeria disappeared. The police told them that they couldn’t do anything about it because the river has no end, so they will never find her. Jazmin didn’t wanted to go to school because everything remembered her of Valeria, and she didn’t talked to anyone. Her parents decided that the better thing for her was to start a new life where she can forget about everything, so they moved to another city. Jazmin never forgot about her best friend, and she would go to the river every year, and talk to Valeria pretending that she was listening.
