Peter Cobb

The death of Peter Cobb. A simple bullet to the head was the cause. As I sit and read over the report I can’t begin to think of a motive. Cobb was a clean, well-spoken family man working an office job where he appeared to be very happy right up to the end. I drink some coffee and put down the file. Cobb never showed up for work the day of his death, so that's where we begin.
The office complex looked as you would expect. Nothing unusual about it. The company Cobb worked for was housed on the 11th floor, midway up the building. As I ride the elevator, I read some information about this company. It is an IT company focused around protection of security and privacy. I began to wonder what Cobb may have been tasked with in the recent weeks prior to his death. The elevator halts, and I exit into the lobby of the company.
As I enter the lobby I approach the clerk and present my badge. She isn’t really paying attention.
“I’m here on behalf of the the Cobb investigation.”
She nods and unlocks the doors to the main office space. As I enter the room, I notice that many of the cubicles are vacant. It seems like no one has really been working here for a while. I make my way into what would appear to be the manager’s office, where I find Al Guzman working quietly at his desk. He looks up as I enter the room.
“Hello sir, what can I do for you today?”
I show him my badge.
“I need some information about Peter Cobb.”
“Certainly, what would you like to know?”
After asking multiple questions he seemed very compliant with me. He told me everything about him. I discovered from him that Cobb’s main job was to make sure none of the data they stored was ever compromised, such as leaking private conversations among clients, or other personal information. Nothing he told me would lead to any motives.
