Carving Art
The girl sat in front of the computer
She moved her index finger over the ball of the mouse,
Scrolling through the comments left on her wall—
None of them were really nice, so she opened another page.
It was another site
But the same thing—
All the comments were rather unfriendly.
They spammed her page
She refreshed the page
More comments piled on
She opened another tab
Another log in
A link left
Opened to another window
The screen burning white as she waited for it to load
It was a page, dedicated to her
The comments were no longer mean—
They were downright nasty
Each one spat in her face
She was soaked before the end of the first page
Drenched by the second
Drowning my the third
She closed the page
Her eyes too tired to read
So instead,
Just to pass the time
She used her pencil—
To scratch the delicate little letters
“Forever Original”
Into the palm of her hand

This piece was inspired by little sister who spends a lot of time on the computer (esp. Tumblr), but gets picked on in school. I decided to combine the two to create the way she appears to react to bullying which is just kind of brushing it off, but quickly esculates.
