Anorexia MAG
In the blue light of eve
Crickets conduct their symphony
Magnified in darkness
The sounds go on
Ricocheting off the ears of sleepers
Frozen in their machine-woven cocoons
Girls dream of waking up butterflies
Crawling out of caterpillar bodies
To fly against the sun.
So they no longer need to eat
And eat ...
And eat ...
Only need to drink lightly of nectar
From the beautiful and delicate flowers
So much more ladylike
Under the probing eyes of
Males, in their white lab coats.
