Bad Day At School
Have you ever had stitches? I have, when I was thirteen and in the sixth grade. I was at school in the gym. We were having gym class up stairs where the weight machines were. We had to lift weights while Mrs. Ehrman, the gym teacher took out height and weight. I was with Jay Weber, an old friend of mine. Jay and I was on this machine that I don’t remember what it was called. I was lowering the bed of it when all a sudden I pulled the pin and it fell down. Jay jumped on the bed when I was pulling it and it smacked my right leg. So I walked away and I didn’t notice any pain until I felt this cold, gooey liquid running down my leg into my socks and shoes. It was blood.
I panacea and fell down to the ground. I also yelled really loud for Mrs. Ehrman. She hurried up and grabbed a towel to cover it up and told one of the students to call 911. After that, 15 minutes later the ambulance shows up. The staff put ice on my leg and picked me up and we went down this dark, scary elevator. Then they put me in the ambulance. Mr. Fantenez, the principal rode all the way to the hospital. When we got to the hospital my mom was sitting there filling out papers. She beat us to the hospital from Greensburg. When I got there the doctor numbed my leg. So we had to wait for like ten minutes for stitches. The doctor thought I broke my leg but all it did was scraped my bone. I got 19 stitches on my leg. The stitches looked like a V.
I got to stay home for a week. But I was on crutches for a week and a half.
I learned that I have to be more careful with everything I do. I also have to ask for help when I need it. I have to avoid hitting things with that leg.
