I wholeheartedly agree with Cecile in her article, "The Note That Holds a Thousand Feelings". Her article is so moving because it shows how deeply our parents' actions affect us. Especially the actions of our fathers, being put second because of a substance can break someone in ways I cannot explain. But Cecile explains so perfectly her feelings, it's easy to understand those feelings and what she is going through with her dad. Having a parent be in jail for drugs must be so hard to handle but Cecile has shown an immense amount of bravery, patience, and most importantly love. By just reading the narrative, it is very clear that she loves her dad but loves herself more to acknowledge that, "...your addiction to drugs will always mean more to you than your kids ever will".
