Unmasked (feedback)
“Unmasked” by Jes’Ka R should hit home for most teenagers. Jes’Ka beautifully portrays the teenage mind and character. She has the bravery to write what we all feel like sometimes. We put on a show, take on unnecessary anxieties, hide what we really feel, and worry about what other people think. Every line of Jes’Ka’s poem makes you think about the way you live your life and you realize how brutally honest she’s being with herself and with us. Towards the end of Jes’Ka poem it almost feels like she’s ready to own up to her actions and break the cycle of our teenage epidemic, but she chooses the easy way out and just adds fuel to the fire.
