In the article “Five” in the Non-Fiction section of the October issue of Teen Ink, N.E. tells the reader about being a kid and playing with other neighborhood kids. The article helps me to imagine three kids playing in the leaves and being a kid. I like this story because it gives me a little kid’s point of view. What made me smile was the fact that N.E. explains how distracted the kids can get and how they are easily entertained. I remember being a little kid and having friends and how easily entertained we were.
At the end of the story, I realized it was a flashback and the narrator is older and Five and Three are older. This made me a little sad because it reminded me of how my friends and I have changed and gotten older. I quickly cheered up because we are all still friends. I hope you’ll publish more stories like this because it really reminds me of my childhood days. Thanks N.E. for helping me have childhood flashbacks of my own. I hope other readers had the same feeling as I did about the article.
