The Last Straw (feeedback)
“The Last Straw” by “Mary” is such a heartbreaking piece you almost wish you weren’t reading it in the nonfiction section. The scene of a teenage girl being physically abused is portrayed so vividly that you can almost feel her pain. The description of the impact of the hits makes you wince and sends chills through your body. You want nothing more than for this girl to make it out okay and for her abuser to go to hell. Although we are not told exactly what happens to the girl, we know that she prevails, because it’s her last line that packs the biggest punch.
