"Spoiled" by Irina Huang was eerily touching. Irina is like most of the kids in America (considering she's from America). Except she saw the was some kids live. Her article brought tears to my eyes as i read her closing line- "I wonder if they both now how much they mean to a spoiled young girl like me." She exposed the harsh reality of some children's lives. And she did it beautifully.
I've never been to China, but from the way Irina described it, it is nothing like America. Everyone there know the true meaning of life. They are all grateful for the smallest things. A lot of people in America aren't like that. We really are spoiled, most living in a material world. We don't realize how some people suffer, living on the streets, lucky to get just a scrap of food to eat. We don't see how lucky we are, but i think it's time we open our eyes to the world and learn what happiness is "in its purest form."
