“Beach Camping” is a story about Mean Eugine going camping on the beach with her family. She talks about chasing waves, looking for driftwood, and at the end of the day, hiding from the winds of the night in their tent. I love this writing so much because it reminds me of when I was little. Living on the island of Martha's Vineyard, the summers are filled with tons of beach days. So the story reminded me of some of the bests beach trips I have had. My dad, my sister and I would go out to South Beach almost everyday. We would a early as possible. Sometimes before 6 in the morning. We would stay all day, and pack lunch and even bring a small grill for burgers and dogs at the end of the day. When Megan talks about her and her sister chasing the waves, it reminded me of me and my big sister, Emily, allowing the 6 foot waves to fall into us, sending us into the undertow. Under the water it sounded like there was a stampede of rhinos above our heads. Those are some of my best memories, so this story made me happy.
