It's Not Your Illness
“It’s Not Your Illness”
In “It’s Not Your Illness”, by Cara is about a normal family with a normal life, and anorexia starts to take over the older brother and eat him alive, literally. This changes the whole family’s life. Cara admits: “ I didn’t see him, I saw anorexia.”
This piece was so delicately and beautiful This reminds me of the Fault In Our Stars because of the way then have to rush Cara’s brother to the hospital, the way the rush Hazel to the hospital to drain her lungs. Another way it reminds me of TFIOS is that the family is there for the brother, as well as Hazel. Sickness is a very unfortunate thing and you should fight and win, if not to lose, and this family won.
