Feedback on "Dad's Coat"
"Dad's Coat" is an emotional and sentimental piece written by Sophie Ezzell, Knoxville, TN. It describes her memories and childhood traditions that she spent in her dad's coat. Sophie goes into great detail, giving the reader a window into her childhood, about wearing her dad's coat on Christmas Eve, and how warm she felt in it. By the end, it is evident why Sophie is remembering all of this now. As her last line says, she is soon going away to college.
This piece was truly beautiful and very heart warming. The memories that Sophie described felt as if it just happened yesterday. By reading the piece, without even knowing the author, I feel as if I was with her. The writing comes from the heart and is special and memorable for the author and the reader.
