Divorcing Dad
In “Divorcing Dad” by Andrianna P. the author writes about the troubles and confusion she faced due to her parents divorce. Her parent’s divorce happened when she was younger, which explains why she wrote, “I didn’t always understand what was going on and why it was happening.” I can personally relate to the author because my parents also divorced when I was young leaving me with troubles and confusion of my own.
Although reading this selection brought up many emotions from my own parents divorce it was reassuring to know I was not the only one that had the same thoughts. She describes the times she went to her friends’ houses as “Everyone would eat dinner together or play games, and I would sit there dreaming about being part of a family like that.” This hits home for me as well because it was often a thought that came across my mind numerous times. It would leave me confused and depressed, but it is reassuring to know I am no the only one in a situation like this to have these feelings.
