Feedback on "Uniting Two Americas"
I immediately related to "Uniting Two Americas" by Carrie A.. She describes the political consensus of California, which is the same as the views of us New Yorkers. As she says, "...Republican is another word for racist. sexist. Homophobic. Fanatically religious. stupid." Living in a bubble like this, where nearly everyone agrees with you, is nice. But it's a very one-sided mindset.
I really love what she said about Election Night, it was my feelings exactly. I did not expect Trump to win at all. As he gave his acceptance speech, I just couldn't believe it actually happened. I like how she described the way Trump is viewed, as an "inexperienced, racist, misogynistic, ill-tempered, xenophobic, immature, bigoted rapist." We should consider the ideas of people who do not think this way. The two sides are way too divided, so we must unite America.
